The Metropolitan Planning Organization of Johnson County (MPOJC) will host two public meetings to discuss the Metro Bicycle Master Plan and gather input from area residents regarding local bicycling conditions in Coralville, North Liberty, Tiffin, and University Heights. The MPO is working on the Metro Bicycle Master Plan, a document that will guide future investments in bicycle facilities as well as changes in policies and programs that impact bicycling in these communities.

Two initial public workshops are scheduled:

Tuesday, February 5, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the North Liberty Community Center: Cancelled

Tuesday, February 12, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Coralville Public Library

Residents of Coralville, North Liberty, Tiffin, and University Heights as well as those interested in general bicycling conditions in Johnson County are welcome to attend either event. Public input gathered through these events will help set a foundation for the plan in terms of future facilities, road and trail improvements, and policies and programs that make bicycling safer and easier.

The initial public workshops will include a brief overview of the planning process and existing conditions. Attendees will provide input on existing barriers identified through a recent online survey as well as opportunities for better connectivity between metro communities and to the county trail system. While the plan does not cover Iowa City, it will consider connections to planned facilities identified in the Iowa City Bicycle Master Plan, adopted in 2017.
