One Citizen Representative Position – One Year Term
Effective upon appointment – January 31, 2018
The Metropolitan Planning Organization of Johnson County (MPOJC) is seeking a representative to participate on the East Central Iowa Council of Governments (ECICOG) - Board of Directors. ECICOG is an intergovernmental council established in 1973 and is governed by a board of directors comprised of elected officials and private citizens. ECICOG was created to promote regional cooperation and to provide professional planning services to local governments in Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn, Tama, and Washington Counties. Services provided are primarily in the areas of economic development, transportation planning, transit, housing, watershed and solid waste planning.
The duty of the ECICOG Board of Directors is to advise ECICOG staff on all matters relevant to the work conducted by the organization. Meetings of the ECICOG Board of Directors are held at the ECICOG office (third floor of the Shores Central Park building) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on the last Thursday of each month at 1:30pm.
The appointed representative must be a resident of Johnson County, Iowa. The ideal candidate will have an interest or expertise in fields such as: business, environment, transportation, housing or health and human services.
Applications must be received by 5:00 PM Friday, January 12, 2018 at the MPOJC office at 410 E Washington Street, Iowa City, IA. Application forms may be obtained at the MPOJC office or on the MPO website www.mpojc.org. The MPOJC Urbanized Area Policy Board will make the final appointment.
