The Metropolitan Planning Organization of Johnson County (MPOJC) will host a series of virtual public meetings as part of its Future Forward 2050: Connecting Communities Long Range Transportation Plan. The long-range plan is a blueprint for how and where metro area communities will invest in transportation improvements (including roads, bridges and trails) and is required in order to secure state and federal funding for transportation projects.

Based on economic forecasts and projected growth, the Plan will identify transportation needs as well as the financial resources that may be available to support future infrastructure improvements.

Anyone who lives, works, attends school or conducts business in Johnson County is invited to attend the first meeting on April 1st, 2021 from 5:30-6:00 p.m. Members of the public who attend the meeting will:

  • See which infrastructure projects your community has planned for the future and how they contribute to the transportation network.
  • Understand which projects are eligible for federal funding and how funding decisions are made.
  • Learn how transportation priorities are set and how you can be a part of that process.
